Are there any records available for free on the Comptroller’s website?
Can I get certified copies of public records?

Yes, you can get certified copies of public records. In your request, simply state that you would like certified copies. Please read the Cost Sheet for the fees.

How long will it take me to get copies of public records that are not available online?

Copies of public records will be provided to you within a reasonable amount of time. The time it takes to retrieve the records will depend on what and how many records are requested.

I want to request public records. Do I have to give you my name?

No, you are not required to give a name in order to make a public records request.

If the record I want is not available online, is there a cost for getting copies of public records?

The Records Custodian may charge an additional reasonable charge for the labor and overhead associated with the duplication of any records request that requires special equipment or paper (such as county maps or aerial photographs) and any request which requires extensive use of information technology resources, or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance by Comptroller personnel.

What are some records maintained by other Orange County agencies?

Clerk of Courts – Marriage Licenses issued in Orange County before March 1, 1998 and after June 30, 2017

Clerk of Courts – Foreclosure education (i.e. Certificate of Title, etc.)

Property Appraiser – Property address, owner, parcel information, property use

Tax Collector – Overpayments of property taxes or delinquent property taxes

What records can I request through the Comptroller’s Office?

The Comptroller is responsible for maintaining the accounting and financial records of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The Comptroller also keeps records of BCC meetings and all records of the Charter Review Commission (CRC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB). Other records include Official Records of Orange County such as deeds, liens, mortgages and tax deed sales.

Where do I go to pick up copies of public records?

The Clerk of the Board office will contact you when your records are ready for pick up. You can physically pick up your copies at the Clerk of the Board office located at Orange County Administration Center Building, 201 S. Rosalind Ave., 4th Floor, Orlando, FL 32801.
Copies of public records can also be emailed to you, if you provide a valid email address and the file size isn’t too large.
