The assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for the administration and maintenance of accounting systems and records for governmental and enterprise funds, compliance monitoring, financial statement preparation, assist with preparation of CAFR and other financial reports, work with auditors on interim, annual and special audits, implementation of GASB Standards, and supervision of staff. Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental accounting with a CPA. Must have strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software.
The Property Control Specialist Position prepares input forms using Excel, Word, and Adobe for acquisition and disposition of County owned tangible equipment with a high-degree of accuracy. The Property Control Specialist must be able to perform administrative duties including bookkeeping. The Property Control Specialist must be able to compile data and reconcile reports or correct discrepancies.
The Property Control Specialist is responsible for assisting with the accounting for and control of County property. A substantial amount of fieldwork is required. The position performs inventory of County owned property and is responsible for updating asset records with a high degree of accuracy.
Note: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and be willing to use your own vehicle for travel (mileage reimbursement applies).
An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing invoices or written requests for payment and maintaining files for assigned vendors. Each specialist is assigned specific duties, (i.e., all vendors that begin with the letter a, b, and c, etc.) The specialist is responsible for ensuring that all accounts payable duties are performed for assigned vendors. The specialist pre-audits payments and verifies that payments are made according to established policies and procedures as well as in compliance with Florida Statutes. Specialists are expected to exercise independent judgment in solving most problems that arise within their assigned job duties. Performance is reviewed by general observation and through periodic audits of files and transactions by an Accounts Payable Supervisor.
The Property Control Specialist is responsible for assisting with the accounting for and control of County property. A substantial amount of field work is required to identify assets and conduct annual inventories. Work is reviewed by the Property Control Supervisor, although day-to-day direction may be provided by a Senior Property Control Specialist.
